Steinbeck on Fear
I haven't updated this blog in a minute because I don't really have much to talk about that I can't fit in a tweet. But I have some random thoughts that aren't really relevant to the zeitgeist but wish to share.
Like quotes for example. Here is a quote from my favorite author Steinbeck. I'll probably use this blog for things like this.
“How can you frighten a man whose hunger is not only in his own cramped stomach but in the wretched bellies of his children? You can't scare him--he has known a fear beyond every other.”
― John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath
I don't have children, and I definitely can be scared by things, but I think there is some desensitization if you keep trying to frighten someone incessantly.
